関戸橋フリーマーケット - ラストパート (4)

Okay I am totally late on this one but here it is, the last part of the bicycle market report.

First is Nakamura San and his project Momoiro Bike Works, I guess this could interest Danny Choo (?)

Then I met Mr CyberCyclist; with his system he has his own telebi (TV) channel, streaming live his rides across Japan. He has almost 2000 followers on Nico Nico Douga, a popular web app in Japan where people can write comments directly on the video screen. So as I was talking to him at his booth, I could read the comments/questions people were writing live and then answered them, funny.

It's here actually (just found it!), I appear at around 230 on the left counter ;-)

Check the comments, they are funny.

An other rider style, this gentleman rides in the old fashion style, quite elegant I must say.

And these touring bicycles seem quite appropriate with his style.

An other old school one, from France.

We can still read the name and address of the shop : M. Pontillon, 25 rue Nungesser & coli 91000 Athis Mons !

SekidoBashi Bicycle Market

I wonder if the shop still exists !? Anyone near Paris to check ? ;-)

And it is a Jacques Anquetil bicycle, 5 time winner of the Tour de France (among aother races...)

And still in great condition.

Talking about vintage bicycles. I met an American National who has a passion for Showa period bicycles. His collection is simply incredible. Please check also his website : http://chikutakurinrin.cocolog-nifty.com/.

SekidoBashi Bicycle Market

All the bikes he presented were totally re-made from scratch by him. He buys the pieces on the net for example and then from archives he found on micro-film in the National library, gives birth again to this wonderful bikes.

Japan should be grateful to him ! I can't imagine how many hours he spent on each bicycle...

SekidoBashi Bicycle Market

The only "negative" point of these rides is their weight. As he told me, they are tanks, more than 25kg each, maybe more than 30kg for some of them. You'd better live in a flat area !

SekidoBashi Bicycle Market

If you check well you will notice that each piece kept the mark of its original maker.

SekidoBashi Bicycle Market

He assured me each bike was a fair copy of the original. Crazy !

Really again, awesome bikes! Just for that I was happy I came to the market. Next one will be next spring.

Merci Piettro pour les informations. Ce qui est drôle c est que meme si cela était du
bas de gamme chez nous, c'est devenu terriblement cher ici!

スタンドコンテストのビデオ

Track Stand contest on a boat: what a great idea! Being on a cruising boat obviously added some difficulties (there were waves).Congratulations to the winner, great balance skills!(some could barely stand on their own but I think it was not only due to the waves :-))More photos and videos of the party to come, probably tomorrow... 続きを見る
