Slow Sunday here... I often take snap shots with no particular goal, but I thought it could interest you a little bit (or not at all...).
I took these ones during the past few weeks, it will give you a glimpse of everyday life here.

So here we go :

Spring has come, well, Sakura are not in full bloom yet

Everyday Life in Japan

but still like other folks we took our bento to eat in the park near the FC Yokohama Stadium.

This one is a peach tree, just in front of our apartment!(but the birds are faster than us to get the fruits...)

Yokohama by night, Club Wife... hum... I am not sure the wives of the guys who go to this club would appreciate this name. (*)

Everyday Life in Japan

A taste of the 50's and 60's with this theater (near the club). Nice that this kind of place can still "survive". (*)

Everyday Life in Japan

Dogs have a strange life in Japan, you can see them dressed or carried like babies, this is one's got the "backpack" treatment... Look at its sad eyes...

Everyday Life in Japan

If you are in Yokohama at the end of April, don't miss this show (La Machine) I am sure it will be a great street performance.

Everyday Life in Japan

Problem on my train line... Can't even reach the platform! It does not happen often though.

Everyday Life in Japan

I've seen this mysterious train 2 times... It looks very "cool" (especially if you are a densha otaku - trainspotter)...

In the train, some people feel like at home ...

The park just 20m from home, you can see the Landmark Tower (300m) in the back.

Our bikes! we keep them inside during rainy nights...

Everyday Life in Japan

Yep, you can't escape it on this blog : a fixed gear bike spotted last night in Harajuku.

And food! If you are in Shibuya I recommend this restaurant : Okinawa food, my favorite set : the Shabu Shabu Katsu! It's here

That's all folks! I think I will post this kind of article once in a while.

三味線 - 1

How to play  Shamisen was something I wanted to learn even before I start to live in Japan. Well, it actually took some time, but today I had my first lesson! When I visited Istanbul in 2004 I bought a baglama (pronounced balama) and had fun with it at home even if I never properly learned how to play it :-) A friend also offered me a valiha (pronounced "valee" if I remember well) from... 続きを見る

等々力渓谷

Looking for green in Tokyo ? Not difficult actually, there are many parcs and even with a bit of train you are quickly in the mountains. For example Takao San is about 1h from Shinjuku... I don't even mention if you take the Shinkansen... (then it is not even a question of time and distance but more of money...)Today I bring you to Todorokikeikoku just near Tokyo West part. It is just one stop after Jiyugaoka (on the  Oimachi line) which is also on the Tokyu - Toyoko line that starts from S... 続きを見る

日本での日々の生活 - 8

I just realized that the last episode of "Everyday Life in Japan" was as far as December! As Homer Simpson would say : "D'oh!" Yep, time is flying!!So it is much time for my random mix of snapshots in Tokyo and around. Most were taken with the Nikon D5000, and the bad looking ones were taken with the iPhone 3G.This lion is at the entrance of an old imperial building now used as an exhibition place.Just near in a café after the visit, I "stole" this shot of these 2 ladies in kimono. I  wonder... 続きを見る
