No, I did not give up on this series of "Everyday Life in Japan". Last one was quite a while though, so the following is a collection of photos taken the last 2 months.
As usual here, no real common theme but just random shots I took from my day to day life...
Minato Mirai by Night.
I am never bored of this place.
And I guess I am not the only one.
Many groups of photographers come in the area to practice.
This one was taken from the Washington Hotel, an average comfortable, not expensive hotel and well located (near the Sakuragicho station).
In my neighborhood, this house was a ruin for the last 3 years (at least), finally they cleaned it. In 2 days there was nothing left.
Vegetation vs construction : 1 - 0
Yebisu beer : a good one! and beautifully designed.

Ramen, the first plate I offer to my relatives visiting Japan for the first time!
And what do they bring to me? Saucisson, for the win :)
Tonkatsu is also a rather common plate here.
We spent one night in a ryokan in our last trip in Tottori.
If you come to Japan, try to spend at least one night in this kind of hotel/pension.

In a sushi restaurant, once you finished you have a chance to win something for each plate you ate.
I won this little samurai guy representing the restaurant brand.
Why have a dog or a cat as a pet when you can have a goat ?! [goat is yagi in Japanese]

The classic oil tank, each 2 weeks (in winter) I fill it from the truck that comes in our street on Saturdays. We use the oil for the stove.
We had a cruise on the Sumida river.

Not easy to take good shots and without a mirror effect...
This is the Tokyo tower, as high as the Eiffel tower : 300m (slightly more actually if I remember well)
The Landmark tower (cf. shots from Yokohama) is also 300m high.
No transition : a typical Japanese salary man at work :)

Found this shrine in Ebisu.
Near a big avenue but in a street I never took before.
When I have some time, I like to walk randomly in Tokyo.

You are right : looooooong time ago it cane from China, but now I asked my wife : Do you think Ramen as a Japanese meal and she answered "yes of course!" ;-) Actually one of reason I first offer Ramen is because it's on my way home :D

I am a retired Urban Designer so I went to Kyoto to see the Cultural History, Gardens, Temples etc, an experience I will never forget, a true visual delight.
Thanks for bring back those memories of Japan for me.. Beautiful Photographs..

I did not know at all about grenades (I only knew the name). I realized thanks to a previous comment that indeed zakuro = grenades...
As for the spider called "Maman" (!?) I just checked on wikipedia and indeed there are several of it in the world. It is the art work of Louise Bourgeois.
